Turtle Research

Increasing our understanding and knowledge of this species and its requirements will guide future conservation actions for the species and its habitat.

Tiaro Landcare is committed to supporting and encouraging new research and has partnered with The University of Queensland, Griffith University and Charles Darwin University. Since the establishment of the Mary River turtle support scholarship in 2006, Tiaro Landcare provided financial and in-kind assistance to numerous post graduate researchers. Scientific papers resulting from this research are included in the Resource Library.
